Short History of The Corbin Homestead

In the 1940’s, the Corbin family lived on a small farm next door at 920 Stahlheber.

Chester Corbin delivered milk for French Bauer, Royal Crest.

In 1944, Chester builds this house, at 930 Stahlheber, for his son Earl.

Earl leaves home to fight in World War II the following summer.

November 11, 1945, Chester Corbin dies from a heart attack outside his home.

Early 1946, Chester’s wife Louise, and Earl’s wife Mary tend to the care of both properties.

Later that year, Earl returns home from the war and continues the milk hauling business.

In June 1949, Earl posts an article in the Hamilton Journal listing the house for sale.

The Corbin’s were well known in Hamilton and Butler County.

Their services for hauling milk throughout greater Cincinnati were exceptional.

A milk storage house still stands on the old property at 950 Stahlheber Rd.

Since 1950, nine families have resided at the 930 Stahlheber property.

Much has changed, but the one thing that remains the same…

This house is home!
