REBMAN, John B. Age 78 of Hanover Township, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016. John was born April 24, 1937 in Lewisville, Ohio to Loren and Florence (Bloom) Rebman.

John graduated from Hamilton High School in 1955, where he held the 100 meter dash record for nearly twenty years. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1956 and played baseball for the Pacific Coast League while serving his country as a Marine in Barstow, California.

John had a love for the California coast. He took advantage of a lifestyle every young American dreamed about during the 1950's cruising some of Los Angeles’ strips and frequenting roadside diners and car hops. His interest in real estate began when he was approached by a resident in Newport Beach asking him if he'd be interested in beachfront property on Balboa Island. He declined, because his new 1957 Corvette had him financially in a bind.

Ten years later, after he moved back home to Ohio, he started his own business where he provided lawn care service and snow removal for every First National Bank and Bell Telephone Company in Butler County Ohio.

During the 1970's, John helped form the Golden Triangle Bird Dog Club of Hamilton, Ohio. He judged many local field trials and bred championship caliber short haired English Pointers. He also loved his Tennessee Walking horses and raising quail and pheasant for hunting.

John loved the outdoor life, especially spending time at the lake fishing, boating and camping with his family. He retired from the City of Hamilton in 1999.

Shortly after retirement, he coached fastpitch softball for the Miami Valley Xpress of Dayton, Ohio. He helped many players earn college scholarships. He coached four players who were elected into the Womens Fastpitch Hall of Fame.

John was very active in the Church of Christ and supported the Restoration Movement. He was also involved in steering committees to help start local christian churches. John died surrounded by his family at his bedside. He was an awesome husband, father and grandad!
